The Alban Vase Poppy is the latest addition to the Alban collection, a series that was conceived before Akua Objects was founded. The collection was first sketched in 2019, while Annika’s first-born son, Alban, was still growing in her belly.

A symbol of growing life and remembrance, the poppy gave rise to Akua Objects’ earliest drawings, which today form a collection named after Alban. The vase conveys a contemporary interpretation of the poppy, a flower that has always been close to Annika’s heart.

Each vase is mouth-blown and shaped by hand. Subtle variations, small air bubbles, and gentle irregularities are part of the process, eternally capturing the breath of the glassblower and making every piece unique.
